Meet Our Two Newest Trustees

/ January 11, 2022

Two new trustees have been appointed to the board of Call4Backup. The charity has announced that Matt Thomas and Rob Hindley have joined the charity.

Matt is a serving Merseyside Police Officer with a history as a Special Constable in Cheshire Police and has also spent time working in the NCA.

Matt said: “I’ll keep it short but, I just wanted to say I am very honoured to be a trustee for this amazing charity which has been doing incredible work to support police officers across the country. I am really looking forward to helping with the support of our officers in as many forces as possible and hope to take part in some events myself to raise money and awareness for the health a wellbeing of our officers and staff.”

Rob Hindley has extensive experience in the charity and public sectors including previously sitting on the trustee board for a national charity. Rob is a medically retired police officer following an injury that occurred whilst he was on duty.

Rob said: "I am extremely proud to be joining the team at C4B and I look forward to supporting the trustees and all the wonderful volunteers whose dedication to assisting our police officers in their time of need. I left the police at the end of July 2019 when my career was cut and I was retired through ill health, after receiving serious injuries attempting to make an arrest. In my 17 years I served in both the Metropolitan Police and Greater Manchester Police and during my time I took on various roles in forces. Including the Lambeth Drugs and Firearms team, child protection and licensing. I have served on both response and neighbourhood both as a PC and Temporary Sergeant."

These two new trustees will bring depth of skills and knowledge to the charity and will allow to push forward into exciting times for the charity.
